Preschool & Kinder-Ready Programs
3 and 4 Years
With improved coordination and cognitive abilities the world begins to open up for children ages 3 and 4. Purposeful play is the core of our preschool programming. Your expressive child's day is filled with hands-on interactive experiences, because we know preschoolers learn by doing.

Our programming begins each day with a morning meeting time to discuss the day’s activities, review the calendar and talk about the weather. In morning centers, children work in small groups navigating through choice-centered learning stations.

Our preschool and kinder-ready programs offer children the opportunities for hands-on experiences that support creativity, social skills, problem solving and thinking critically. Foundational fine and gross motor coordination will mature during art, music, and outdoor activity, all which are a part of our daily routine. Lastly, our programming develops lifelong literacy, mathematical foundations and social engagement skills.
West Seneca Central School District Universal
Pre-Kindergarten Program (UPK)
4 Years by December 1st
The UPK year is all about Kindergarten preparation!

Great Expectations is a Community-Based Organization that collaborates with the West Seneca School District to offer UPK classes to those children who reside within the District.

The primary purpose of our program is to provide four-year-old children with the opportunity to access high-quality prekindergarten programs that prepare them for future school success by developing strong foundational skills in early literacy and mathematics. The goal of our program is to encourage and support child-initiated, child-directed and teacher-supported activities based on a curriculum to ensure strong instructional content aligned with the NYS Learning Standards.

The Universal Pre-kindergarten Program is a grant-funded program which is renewed annually by the NYS Governor. Great Expectations will offer both full-day and half-day options. A full-day will operate 6 hours a day and a half-day will operate 2-1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week for the length of the school year.
Student placements and locations will be determined by a digital lottery.
📌Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the pre-kindergarten program.
📌Children must be four years old on or before Dec. 1st of the year they will be starting school in order to be eligible for the program.
📌Eligible children will need their original birth certificate, physical and immunization records, and proof of residency. You must also provide proof of parent or guardian identity (NYS Valid Driver's license or non-Driver's Identification Card).
